When Faye and Ilya got in touch after tasting my cake at a local wedding fayre, I had a feeling this was going to be a dreamy one. And wow — their wedding at Stockton House in Shropshire was exactly that: romantic, summery, and overflowing with florals, love, and joy.
Held in June at the stunning Stockton House, Faye and Ilya’s day was the perfect balance of timeless style and heartfelt celebration. The venue’s elegant Georgian architecture, tucked into the rolling Shropshire countryside, provided the most beautiful canvas for their vision: floral, romantic, and summery — with a touch of whimsy.
Every corner of the venue was filled with soft seasonal blooms thanks to the incredible Edwina Lowe Florals. Think blousy peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and delicate greenery — all in a soft, romantic palette that danced between hot pink, blush and ivory.
Their photographer, the super talented Tara from Upon the Heath, captured every detail beautifully: sunlight pouring through windows, laughter-filled candid shots, and the all-important cake moment (my personal favourite).
The Cake: Flavour-first & Surrounded by Florals
Faye and Ilya opted for a three-tier buttercream cake, finished with a semi-naked style to let the natural texture shine through. The design was soft and romantic, dressed with fresh florals to match the bridal bouquet, carefully placed for a modern, garden-picked feel.
We matched each tier to flavours that reflected the season and the couple’s personal favourites. Their choices?
- Raspberry and white chocolate (fresh and summery)
- Red Velvet (a guest favourite every time)
- Chocolate Fudge (classic, crowd-pleasing)
Every tier was handmade using quality ingredients. Not much was left, but they managed to take a piece on honeymoon!!
