How about the Stunning Hawkstone Hall in Shropshire?

Set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, Hawkstone Hall & Gardens is one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in the UK. With its rolling parkland, grand interiors, and a perfect blend of historic charm and modern luxury, it’s no wonder so many couples choose this iconic hall as the setting for their special day.
As a wedding cake designer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many couples getting married at Hawkstone Hall, creating cakes that don’t just taste incredible—but look right at home among such beautiful surroundings.
From the moment you arrive, whether by car or, like this groom, helicopter, you’re greeted by sweeping driveways, pristine lawns, and elegant gardens—setting the tone for a romantic celebration. Inside, the venue features a variety of stunning rooms, each with its own character and charm, providing plenty of inspiration for your wedding cake design. There’s usually a donkey and an alpacca or two to welcome you as well.

A Memorable Centrepiece
Your wedding cake isn’t just a dessert—it’s a centrepiece. At a venue like Hawkstone Hall, the cake should be something guests admire before the first slice is even served.
That’s why I always consider where the cake will be displayed: perhaps under a chandelier in the Ballroom, or against the arched windows of the Saloon. The cake stand, table styling, and backdrop all contribute to the overall look. The Saloon offer plenty of room for your guests to gather around to watch you carry out your first task together as a married couple – cutting the cake.
You can choose to have your reception in any number of the rooms, the chapel is serene and stunning, with lots of light from the arched windows and high ceilings, and will accommodate up to 170 guests.

Equally beautiful is the ballroom, which can seat up to 120.
I always take a moment to stop and pause in the Winter Garden, floor to ceiling windows, dappled light, plants and a calm green colour scheme – what an amazing space!!

When designing wedding cakes for Hawkstone Hall, I take inspiration from the venue’s surroundings, architectural details, and the couple’s chosen room. If you’re getting married in the Ballroom, for example, you might want a tall, multi-tiered showstopper with gold accents and sculpted sugar flowers to reflect the space’s grandeur.
For a Winter Garden celebration, you could go in a different direction—a two-tier botanical cake with textured buttercream and subtle floral touches, ideal for a more relaxed, garden-party vibe.
I’ve created everything from ultra-modern cakes with geometric tiers, to classic white-on-white designs, to rustic buttercream cakes dressed in fresh flowers. Each one reflects the unique love story of the couple—and fits seamlessly into the setting.
Let’s collaborate to design a cake that’s as unforgettable as your special day will be.
