Why it’s important to style your cake table – read on for the best tips that don’t cost a fortune! Use your cake as a centrepiece, not an afterthought!!

As I said in a previous blog post, your wedding cake will probably be the most expensive cake you’ll ever purchase, so make the most of it!
Much like Baby (showing my age there!) don’t put it in the corner!!……..in front of a fire extinguisher or bank of sockets – believe me, I’ve seen it done.
Styling the table doesn’t have to cost a fortune, you can make the table look amazing with some simple touches, like a coloured runner, a lovespoon, a beautiful cake stand, some candles or strings of fairy lights, repurpose some of your flowers etc – if you’re having an floral arch backdrop for the ceremony, move it to behind the cake table afterwards.

All too often, I’ve been given a tatty, tarnished old stand from a venue, which doesn’t do your cake justice. Many cake makers will hire stands these days, and they come in all shapes and sizes, to match your venue/vibe/colour scheme etc. From natural wood slices, personalised crates, modern metallics or even clear acrylics.
Make your cake a feature of the day, you don’t have to give it it’s own room (but that’s always nice)! Everyone has the “cake cutting” photo, ensure it looks great! Ask your cake maker if they have been to the venue before, and where they would recommend putting the cake
